Welcome to Magic Window Mac
Early Access Beta 5

Thank you for participating!
We hope you enjoy the new scenes.

Installing the beta on Mac is a little more difficult than on iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV. Apple does not offer TestFlight on Mac so we distribute directly to you. There can be some extra challenges because this is not through the Mac App Store, so we have done our best to explain how to install the build here.

Watch a video showing how to install the
Magic Window Mac Early Access beta.

If you are comfortable installing and moving around apps you can jump ahead and run through the installation instructions. If you have issues installing after watching the video and following the instructions please contact us at support@magicwindowapp.com.

This beta includes 22 new scenes (35 new total!) and a new version of the System Screen Saver plug-in. For instructions on installing the System Screen Saver plug-in check our support page. The version included here is new and updated from the one on the support page.

SIZE: 700MB - LARGE DOWNLOAD.

Please note there is a short delay when first running the app due to macOS verifying the bundle.

2. Quit Magic Window

Before proceeding you need to quit whichever versions of Magic Window you are currently running.

3. Open the Applications folder and rename your existing Magic Window to "Magic Window App Store."

This step allows you to keep your existing version handy to update later. If you don't already own Magic Window Mac you can skip this step.

4. Move the copy of Magic Window you just downloaded to the Applications folder.

It is critical that you put the Beta version in the Applications folder or it will not open when you restart your Mac.

5. Open Magic Window from the Applications folder (the one you just copied.)

Please note there is a short delay when first running the app due to macOS verifying the bundle.
In most cases launching the app will just work. Depending on your security settings you may need to specifically approve the app to run. The beta is signed with an Apple Developer ID which certifies it is legitimate and from us.

To run the app you must allow apps to be run by identified developers.

To run the app you must allow apps to be run by identified developers.

Your Mac needs to allow apps to be installed from identified developers to run the Magic Window beta. By default your Mac may be restricted to apps from the Mac App Store. To change this setting, open System Preferences, select Security, and make sure the "App Store and identified developers" option is selected. If you can't click it, you need to click the lock in the bottom left hand corner to grant permission.
